24 hours have been passed already. But still the controversy have not stopped regarding the dismissal of Virat Kohli in KKR vs. RCB match on Sunday at Eden Gardens.
Virat was dismissed by the KKR pacer Harshit Rana, KKR pacer. He scored 18 runs of 7 balls and hit two 6s and one 4 in the match. Kohli was out of the crease and was surprised by the slow full toss and gave the return catch to the Harshit Rana. The on- field umpire went for the decision to the third umpire and then the third umpire was fully agreed with the on-field umpire that the delivery was dipping and have passed below the batter’s waist and he had to walked towards the pavilion.
For arguing with umpire
Virat was fined 50% of the total match fee due to arguing with field umpires. But the IPL broadcasters Star Sports showed that if Virat was out of the crease then the ball was dipped below his waist and according to the rule of cricket he was out.
According to BCCI’s statement – ‘’Mr. Virat Kohli, batter Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been fined 50% of his match fees for breaching the IPL code of conduct during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. Kohli committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.8 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the match referee’s decision is final and binding.’’
KKR opener and the wicket- keeper, who was the hero of the match on Sunday said that ‘’from our point of view, we feel like we may have got away with one there.’’
He also said, ‘’It’s a split opinion, we know that. It’s the rub of the greens, one of those calls.’’
