Indian Lok Sabha Election 2024, after phase-I started on April 19, the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 is all set to take place on May 25 with a total of 889 candidates in the fray. In this phase, voters from 58 constituencies across Eight States and Union Territories will cast their votes.

Bihar: 8 out of 20
Uttar Pradesh: 14 out of 80. (Election in Capital city of Lucknow constituency was conducted in Phase-5)
Jammu and Kashmir: 1 out of 5
Haryana: All 10
Odisha: 6 out of 21
West Bengal: 8 out of 42
Jharkhand: 4 out of 14
The voting will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. The results will be declared on June 4.
Campaigning ended on Thursday for the 58 constituencies, which are spread across six states and two Union Territories, including all seven seats in Delhi. After phase 6, only 57 constituencies will be left for the final phase of polls on June 1.
The voting so far has been completed in 25 states and Union Territories, covering 428 constituencies out of the total 543.
According to the Association of Democratic Reforms, approximately 39 percent of the candidates in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections are crorepatis with average assets worth Rs 6.21 crore.
Among some prominent candidates, Kanhaiya Kumar, a former student leader and fierce critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is challenging sitting MP Manoj Tiwari, regional Bhojpuri language cinema actor and singer in the Northeast Delhi constituency, while Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan is seeking to enter the Lok Sabha, the lower House of Indian Parliament, from Sambalpur in the eastern state of Odisha.
How to cast a vote without Voter ID?
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), people can vote at the polling booth even if they don’t have a physical Voter ID card. However, voters must ensure their names are included in the Election Commission’s voter list before voting.
If a voter’s name is listed but they don’t have a Voter ID card, they can still vote by presenting alternative ID proofs or documents.

Any of the alternate ID proofs or documents listed can serve as a substitute for the Voter ID card during the voting process:

– PAN (permanent account number) card
The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are being held in seven phases. The first five phases were held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13 and May 20.
