On Monday, Indore Lok Sabha candidate Akshay Bam suddenly withdraw his candidature and joined Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) before the starting of fourth phase of election in the seat, scheduled for May 13.
In the social media platform X, senior state BJP Minister and the state Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya stated, “Akshay Kanti Bam, Congress’ Lok Sabha Candidate from Indore is welcomed to the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party National President J.P. Nadda, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and state President VD Sharma.”
This is the second setback for Congress as the Congress nomination was rejected last week from Surat leading to BJP candidate’s win.
The fourth phase of election in Indore is on May 13 and the last day for withdrawal for nomination was Monday.
There was already an indication that Bam could join Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
The fourth phase of election in Indore is on May 13. The last day for filling the nomination of 4th phase was April 25 and the last day for withdrawal the nomination was Monday – implying BJP’s Shankar Lalwani will not face any Congress candidate in Indore.
