Argentina designated Hamas a terrorist organization on Friday and placed a block on the Palestinian group’s financial assets, in a mostly symbolic gesture as President Javier Milei wants to align Argentina closely with the United States and Israel. Milei’s office announced the decision, citing the violent Palestinian group’s cross-border raid on Israel on October 7, which murdered 1,200 people and kidnapped 250 others, making it Israel’s bloodiest assault in 76 years.
