BJP’s second list for the Lok Sabha elections was released on Wednesday evening.
There are 72 names in it. Nitin Gadkari has been given ticket from Nagpur, Piyush Goyal from Mumbai North and Anurag Thakur from Hamirpur. Manohar Lal Khattar, who left the post of Chief Minister of Haryana a day earlier, will contest elections from Karnal.
In the first list released on March 2, BJP had released the names of 195 candidates from 16 states and two UTs. Including the first and second lists, the party has so far released the names of a total of 267 candidates.
But Pawan Singh from Asansol seat and Upendra Rawat from Barabanki have withdrawn their names. Later Pawan Singh backed and said will fought from Asansol.
Madhya Pradesh: Announcement on remaining 5 seats
The names of candidates for the remaining 5 seats of Madhya Pradesh have also been announced. Shankar Lalwani has been given ticket from Indore and Anil Firoziya from Ujjain.
Vivek Bunty Sahu has been made the candidate from Chhindwara, Bharti Pardhi from Balaghat and Savitri Thakur from Dhar. The names of 24 candidates were announced in the first list that came on March 2. In this way, candidates have been declared for all 29 seats of MP.
Haryana: 6 names in the list, announcement on 4 still pending
There are a total of 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state. BJP has announced candidates for 6 seats in the state in the second list.
Among these, Manohar Lal Khattar, who resigned from the post of CM of Haryana and membership of the Assembly in the last two days, has been given ticket from Karnal. BJP has canceled the ticket of sitting MP from Karnal, Sanjay Bhatia.
Himachal: 2 names announced, 2 left
The party has announced its candidates for 2 out of 4 Lok Sabha seats in Himachal.
Anurag Thakur has been made the candidate from Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat.
He will contest elections from this seat for the fifth consecutive time. From Shimla, the party has again fielded its sitting MP Suresh Kashyap. Candidates for Mandi and Kangra seats have not been declared yet.
Opportunity for two new faces from Uttarakhand
Candidates have been announced for all five seats of Uttarakhand. 3 names were announced in the first list. The remaining 2 names have been announced in the second list released today.
In the first list, all three candidates were repeated, whereas in the second list released today, both new faces Anil Baluni from Garhwal and Trivendra Singh Rawat from Haridwar have been given a chance.
6 new faces on 7 seats of Delhi
BJP has given a chance to new faces on the remaining 2 seats of Delhi. Harsh Malhotra has been given the ticket in place of former cricketer Gautam Gambhir from East Delhi and Yogendra Chandolia has been given the ticket in place of singer Hans Raj Hans from North-West Delhi.
Earlier on March 2, candidates were announced for 5 seats in the first list. Of these, 4 were new faces. Only the ticket of Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari was repeated. In the 2019 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had won all 7 seats in Delhi.
Tickets of 5 MPs canceled in Gujarat
In the second list of BJP, 7 candidates have been announced from Gujarat. In this, the ticket of Ranjan Bhatt from Vadodara and Hasmukh Patel from Ahmedabad East has been repeated.
Tickets of 5 MPs have been canceled. The party had declared 15 candidates in the first list, that is, names of candidates have been announced for 22 out of 26 seats.
The names of Union Ministers Amit Shah, Mansukh Mandaviya and Parshottam Rupala were also in the first list of Gujarat. In the years 2014 and 2019, all 26 Lok Sabha seats of Gujarat were won by BJP.
Announcement of 20 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra
In the second list of BJP, candidates have been announced for 20 out of 48 seats in the state.
The party did not declare a candidate from even a single seat in Maharashtra in the first list. In the list released today, Pankaja Munde has been made the candidate in place of Pritam Munde from Beed seat, Nitin Gadkari from Nagpur, Raksha Khadse from Raver, Muralidhar Mohol from Pune. Piyush Goyal will contest elections from Mumbai North.
Telangana: 4 leaders who joined BJP 3 days ago were made candidates
There are 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. BJP has announced 15 candidates. Today there are 6 names in the second list. Of these, there are 4 who had joined BJP from another party. These include former BRS leaders Sitaram Naik, Sanampudi Saidireddy from Nalgonda and Godom Nagesh from Adilabad and former Congress leader Gomasam Srinivas from Peddapalli.
All four had joined BJP on March 10. Apart from these, DK Aruna (Mahboobnagar) and M Raghunandan Rao (Medak) have been fielded.
