Another death news before Taylor Swift’s concert at Rio de Janeiro! A 25-year-old man, who was in Rio de Janeiro to join the singer’s world tour, was murdered on Sunday, November 19. Gabriel is the second Taylor fan to tragically die this weekend, following the death of 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides. The two deaths have sparked panic among “Fearless” singers concertgoers.
A three-day concert of the world famous pop star Taylor Swift was scheduled to begin Between November 17 and 19 in Rio de Janeiro.
Unfortunately, the death of a 23-year-old Taylor Swift fan at the singer’s Eras Tour concert in Rio de Janeiro on Friday night has caused widespread uproar.
Several local media reported that bottles of water were not allowed inside the Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos Stadium (where the concert was held) even though Rio and much of Brazil had record-breaking temperatures this week, amid a dangerous and prolonged heat wave, and fans lined up for hours in the sun. the temperature had reached to 138.74 degrees Fahrenheit.
Swift performed for over 60,000 people in that astonishing heat. According to some Local news reports, the city’s fire department claimed that at least 1,000 audience members fainted during the show. In such a situation, her fan became unconscious and later she was declared dead.
Taylor swift’s reactions to Ana’s tragic death
Ana Clara Benevides, 23 , was about to graduate in Psychology next April. But life is so uncertain. The “cruel summer” singer posted a heartfelt note on Instagram Stories honoring the young fan, “I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this.”
Following Ana’s death, Taylor canceled her Saturday show due to “extreme temperatures” and pushed it back to Monday. Taylor Swift returned to the Eras Tour stage in Brazil on 19 November, after postponing her Saturday show due to the death of a fan in the sweltering heat.
During the concert that day, Taylor dedicated a song to the deceased fan. “Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye / You were bigger than the whole sky,” Swift sang. Although the singer did not explicitly mention Benavides during his performance, fans claimed that his song was included in memory of Ana.
Murder of Santos
This curse of death did not end here. Another fan Gabriel Milhomem Santos, was stabbed to death hours after he attended Taylor’s show at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium. Santos was killed on Sunday morning.
Speaking to local media g1, Gabriel’s family said, Gabriel was a cheerful and extremely studious man. He was reportedly with two female cousins when she decided to go swimming at the famous Copacabana beach. Santos was sleeping on Copacabana beach with his cousins when a group of three men attacked them in an attempted robbery. The man stabbed Santos and fled with two mobile phones. Two of the robbers were later arrested for stealing 80 chocolate bars but later released.
Santos’ parents said Santos was an aeronautical engineering student. Participating in this concert was a lifelong dream for him. Gabriel had travelled to Rio from Belo Horizonte to attend Taylor’s show. He was still wearing a “Swifties” friendship bracelet on his wrist when he was found. He will be buried wearing a handmade outfit that he made for the Swift concert.
Fan’s reaction
Two consecutive tragic deaths have angered the public. Many were further upset to hear that Swift wrote that Benevides had died before her show, but a friend of Benevides who was with the fan said he actually passed out at the beginning of the concert, when Swift was performing. According to the some reports, the tragedy prompted the federal government to order event organizers T4F to ensure access to water at all of Swift’s concerts in Brazil, and to allow bottled water to be brought to all concerts from now on. Did the fresh life go away due to the carelessness of the event organizers?
Taylor and event organizers are yet to comment on Gabriel’s death.
