A major accident took place in the Pink Line of Delhi Metro this morning.
Atround11 am at Gokulpuri metro station, suddenly an entire part of the slab of the metro station collapsed.
There was chaos as soon as part of the slab fell on the road. Immediately the operation of the metro was stopped on that route. DMRC said that the boundary wall on the eastern side of Gokulpuri metro station had collapsed.
Gokulpuri Metro Station Collapsed
Suddenly, a part of Gokulpuri metro station collapsed here. Due to which there was panic among the passers-by.
The accident happened at Pink Line metro station. One person died in this accident. There are reports of some other people getting injured.
Four fire tenders are present at the spot. Delhi Police Force has also been deployed. Many people were present on the road when the accident happened.
Passers-by were coming and going. The side slab of Gokulpuri metro station fell. Some people were injured due to its grip. He has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Station Collapsed cause Injuries
According to the report, the side slab of the boundary wall of the metro station fell on the road due to which the people around got scared.
There were chaos all over. Immediately, someone informed the police after which the fire brigade and police force reached the spot. At present, the officials are taking stock of the matter.
DMRC issued a statement saying that as soon as the wall of the metro station collapsed, a loud sound was heard in the entire area.
Police said that at least 3-4 people were injured in this accident. The injured were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital.
Traffic has been stopped on the road leading from under the metro station after the incident. The team is investigating the spot by surrounding the spot.
One dead on spot
A 53-year-old man Vinod Kumar has died in the Gokulpuri metro station accident. He is a resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, Karawal Nagar, Delhi.
DMRC said that around 11 am, information about the Gokulpuri accident was given.
As the eastern part of the railing of the metro station fell down, there was chaos. As soon as the incident happened, the policemen present there, with the help of local people, had taken a man trapped in the rubble to a nearby hospital.
This person was going somewhere by scooty when all his debris filled and fell.
