In other places, the rain erupted into thunderstorms and hailstorms, and pictures of the downpour quickly took over social media. It gave residents relief from the intense heat and scarcity of water. However, when roads flooded, commuters reported experiencing traffic jams in several parts of the city.
Additionally, the city had an unanticipated hailstorm that caught many locals surprised. Large hailstones were released by the downpour, battering cars and rooftops throughout the city. Strong winds exacerbated the city’s aftermath of the extreme weather phenomena, and officials issued recommendations advising citizens to remain indoors until the situation improved.

Heavy rain in Bengaluru is common due to its location in South India, where the climate is tropical and humid during the monsoon season. The city is known for its annual monsoon season, which spans from June to September.
During this time, Bengaluru receives an average of 9.69 inches (245 m) of rainfall and often experiences heavy showers, which can lead to flooding and disruptions.
The city has a well-developed infrastructure to handle heavy rain, including drainage systems, rainwater harvesting, and flooding mitigation measures.
