“We will be working with full pace on the schemes which were started by Hemant Soren. We will work for the benefit of state’s public. The cabinet expansion will take place in the next 2-3 days,” said Jharkhand CM Champai Soren after JMM-led coalition won the trust vote.

Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato asked the members of the House who were in favour and against the motion to stand at their places one by one.

Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Monday said efforts should be made to make the state corruption-free and prosperous. He said good governance and social justice are two important pillars of development and corruption should not act as a barrier, said Radhakrishnan while addressing a special session of the assembly convened by the Champai Soren government to seek trust vote.

Numbers clears Side

A political party needs a majority of 41 members to cross the majority mark in the 81-member assembly, and form a government in Jharkhand.

Notably, Champai Soren’s JMM currently has 29 seats in the assembly, while its ally, the Congress, has 16 seats and the RJD has one.

Champai Soren New CM

Champai Champai Soren took oath as the new chief minister of the state on February 2. The incident takes place after JMM leader Hemant Soren resigned as the chief minister and subsequently got arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with an alleged land scam case.

Hemant Soren was also present in the Assembly to attend the floor test. A special court in Ranchi allowed Soren to participate in the trust vote.

Soren targets BJP

Participating in the debate, he said that his arrest was just an example of the oppression faced by tribals and Dalits in society in multiple ways. Targeting BJP over his arrest Hemant Soren slams and said it is only be done for their self motive.

Babulal Marandi says, ‘Champai Soren should make Jharkhand free of middlemen and corrupt officers’

Jharkhand BJP President Babulal Marandi said, “Champai Soren should make Jharkhand free of middlemen and corrupt officers. If he fulfils Hemant Soren’s dreams, then he will also fall into trouble. We only saw Hemant Soren looting. Today he (Hemant Soren) is facing the consequences.”

Cabinet Formation in Jharkhand

Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam says, “What happened in the Floor Test is what we had thought. We had approached the Governor with the Letter of Support on the first day itself. We had told him that 43 have signed it and we are 47 MLAs-strong…Today, the same was proved.”

“Very soon,” he says when asked about the expansion of state cabinet.

Champai Soren’s Message

Thank you, gratitude!!

Thanks to all the honorable MLAs included in the alliance for supporting our government during the trust vote in Jharkhand Assembly. Our unity foiled the conspiracy to destabilize the state.

By giving impetus to the schemes started by Hemant Babu, our government will try to bring about a change in the standard of living of the tribals, indigenous people, Dalits and common people of the state.

Jai Jharkhand!!
