Mumbai’s underwater tunnel, also known as Dharmveer Swarajya Rakshak Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Marg, was found to have leaks.
Videos of the seepage that were first visible on Sunday morning have since been extensively shared on social media, raising questions about safety in advance of the monsoon.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the site on Tuesday in response to complaints of leaks in the south-bound tunnel of the Mumbai Coastal Road. He informed the media that leaks were coming from the expansion joints and that they were being fixed right away.
“I called the commissioner right away. Two or three locations are leaking.” He declared, “There is no threat to the original structure,” and gave the assurance that specialists had been consulted. We’ll fill it with specialized technology and come up with a long-term fix. There will be no issues for the passengers. During the wet season, there won’t be any water here, Shinde stated.

The leak is being addressed promptly by the authorities to ensure safety for commuters.
New infrastructural marvel in India, the twin tunnels, which run 17 to 20 meters below sea level, were opened to traffic on March 11 this year.
