Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party Leader Kailash Gahlot has been called for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy.
Kailash Gahlot is currently the minister for home, transport, and law in the Delhi government.
Delhi Transport Minister summoned by ED
According to sources, the investigating agency has issued summons to Delhi Minister Kailash Gehlot for questioning in the ongoing money laundering case related to Delhi’s excise policy.
This comes after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was too arrested on March 21 in this case.
Mr Gahlot has already reached the probe agency’s office.The summons come just days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in the case.
ED sources say Kailash Gahlot has been asked to appear for questioning in the case and getting his statement recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The case pertains to alleged corruption and money laundering in formulating and executing the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22, which was later scrapped.

The Enforcement Directorate says that Kailash was part of the group that implemented the new liquor policy in Delhi. He was also involved in preparing that draft.
This draft was later leaked to the South Group as well. ED did not stop here. ED further said that AAP minister Kailash Gehlot had also given his government residence to South liquor businessman Vijay Nair.
ED suspects that during this period Kailash Gehlot had also changed his mobile number several times.
IT Department seized jewellery and cash from AAP Minister Kailash Gehlot in Oct’18
Interestingly, this is not the first time that the AAP minister Kailash Gehlot has come under the scanner of law agencies.
Earlier too, the I-T department seized unaccounted jewellery worth Rs. 28 lakhs from a locker in the name of Delhi minister Kailash Gahlot and his wife.
The total seizure amounts to Rs. 2 crore of jewellery and cash of Rs. 37 lakhs. The raid was conducted on 25 October 2018.
Earlier that month, the Income Tax Department had conducted raids on multiple premises associated with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi minister Kailash Gahlot in connection with an alleged tax evasion case.
AAP to hold a rally with INDIA bloc leader’s amid continued summons
Aam Aadmi Party is going to hold a rally on March 31 and Congress party can also join this rally.
On Friday, AAP leader and Delhi minister Gopal Rai had announced that many prominent leaders of INDI Alliance will participate in a rally at Ramlila Maidan on March 31 in support of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after his recent arrest.
Gopal Rai said, “After the arrest of CM Arvind Kejriwal, reactions came from all over the country.
Prominent leaders of India Alliance will join the rally to be held at Ramlila Maidan on March 31.”
Rai confirmed that Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, Bhagwant Mann, Champai Soren, Tejashwi Yadav, Sitaram Yechury and many other leaders have been confirmed to attend the rally.
On Friday, Hindu Sena filed a fresh petition, in which the court has been requested to remove Arvind Kejriwal from the post of CM.
In the petition, the court has been demanded to order the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to dismiss Chief Minister Kejriwal from the post and run Delhi through the central government through LG. However, the petition is being dismissed.
However, as of now, all eyes are on Gehlot in anticipation for his upcoming statements to ED.
