Actor Ranveer Singh is set to receive a career award at the upcoming Red Sea International Film Festival. According to a report in Variety magazine, apart from Ranveer, actors Diane Kruger and Abdullah Al-Sadhan will also be honored at the festival, with the actor receiving a career award at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
About the Red Sea Film Festival 2023
Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival has unveiled its 2023 line-up. Running from November 30 to December 9, on the Red Sea’s eastern shore, in the port city of Jeddah, the edition will be launched under the theme “Your Story, Your Festival.” in the competition category, which will showcase 17 narrative and documentary features from Asia, Africa, and the Arab.
This film festival, in just two editions, has established itself as one of the most glamorous film events in the region. Last year, the festival was attended by Oliver Stone and Sharon Stone, as well as Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Priyanka Chopra.
Ranbeer Singh is set to receive global honors
Ranveer Singh is one of the most versatile actors in B-Town. Apart from movies, he is well known for his eye-catching outfits. His acting journey in the Bollywood world began at the age of just 25. After graduating from Indiana University Bloomington, Singh made his acting debut with a leading role in Yash Raj Films’ romantic comedy “Band Baaja Baarat.” He impressed the audience with his acting skills. From “Bajirao Mastani” to “Rocky aur rani kii prem kahaani,” every moment we have seen him in different roles. This “Bajirao” actor from Bollywood has won 10 top awards in his acting career, including the Filmfare Award. Another one will be added to the list. He was invited to Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival, a popular film festival in Arabic, to be honored with an honorary award for his career journey.
Speaking about these prestigious awards, Red Sea Film Foundation CEO Mohammad Al-Turki said in a statement, “This year we are honoring Hindi cinema icon Ranveer Singh; Diane Kruger, who has given us a series of unforgettable characters, from Helen of Troy to Tarantino’s Bridget von Hammersmark, and impressed us with her powerhouse performance as the vengeful Angel Katz in Fatih Akin’s ‘In the Fade’; as well as the much-loved Abdullah Al-Sadhan.
He also said, “We are thrilled to be recognizing each of their varied and deep contributions to cinema and to have them with us for our third edition.”
Shivani Pandya Malhotra, Managing Director, Red Sea Film Foundation, said, “We have a wealth of talent in this year’s jury, representing leading filmmakers from around the world.”
Ranveer Singh was last seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ and will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’. He’ll share the screen with Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, and others.
Ranveer will be seen in the lead role in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. An enthralling first-look teaser featuring Ranveer in the role has already been unveiled.
