Shocking News: Bigg Boss Winner Munawar Faruqui Nabbed in Mumbai Hookah Parlour Raid

Stand-up Comedian Munawar Faruqui (winner of Bigg Boss 17) and 13 others were detained during a raid at a hookah parlor in Mumbai, police stated on Wednesday. The Bigg Boss 17 winner was released later, as confirmed by news agency ANI quoting a Mumbai police official.

As per authorities, the hookah establishment situated in the Fort area of the city was operating without proper authorization. During the raid conducted on Tuesday, law enforcement seized Rs 4,400 in currency along with nine hookah pots valued at Rs 13,500. The operation commenced at approximately 10:30 pm on Tuesday and persisted until 5 am on Wednesday, as confirmed by an official.

Munawar Faruqui’s name surfaced once more in a legal controversy as he was among the individuals detained during a raid on an illegal hookah parlor in Mumbai’s Fort area. The police action resulted in the confiscation of cash and hookah pots, adding to Faruqui’s legal saga.

This recent incident is not Faruqui’s first encounter with legal troubles. In 2021, the comedian spent over a month in Indore Central jail over allegations of hurting religious sentiments during a comedy show. Despite facing backlash, Faruqui has continued to navigate his career in the entertainment industry.

Following his release from jail in 2021, Munawar Faruqui made a comeback, notably appearing in reality TV shows such as “Lock Upp.” His participation in such shows garnered attention, leading to his victory in the inaugural season of “Lock Upp.” Despite setbacks, Faruqui continues to resonate with audiences through his comedic and reality TV endeavors.
