Gujarat is all set to host the 10th edition of its flagship event Vibrant Gujarat Global Investment Summit, which will be inaugurated in the presence of several heads of state, policymakers, diplomats from 133 nations, top industrialists and business executives.
The Prime Minister of India will inaugurate the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit – 2024 at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on January 10 at 9: 45 a. m.
It is expected to draw around 1,00,000 visitors.
Narendra Modi arrived in Ahmedabad on January 9, on a three-day visit to inaugurate the event. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupender Patel was welcomed by Governor Acharya Devabrata and state Bharatiya Janta Party President CR Patil.
Announcing his visit to Gujarat today, PM Modi wrote on X, “Landed in Ahmedabad a short while ago. Over the next two days, will be taking part in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and related programmes. It is a matter of immense joy that various world leaders will be joining us during this Summit…”
About Global trade summit 2024
Every year, the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Gathering brings together numerous industries and business sectors. 2003 saw the launch of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. The three-day summit, which will run from January 10–12, This year, the Global Summit will be held at Gift City,
which will explore sectors like green hydrogen, smart infrastructures, MSMEs, Blue Economy, and renewable energy, apart from financial services and technology.

Before 2024 Loksabha elections, PM Modi aims to assure investors about his business-friendly policies and enhance India’s reputation as an investment destination.
During the summit, PM Modi is scheduled to hold closed-door meetings with many executives. He will also chair bilateral meetings with world leaders, followed by an interactive session with CEOs of top global corporations.
PM Modi and UAE President’s roadshow begins in Ahmedabad
Today Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met to kick off a roadshow from outside the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. After the Prime Minister welcomed the President of the United Arab Emirates at the airport in the evening, the two leaders began their roadshow on a three kilometer-long route starting from the airport.
Global participation
There are 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations for this year’s summit. Further, the Ministry of Development of the North-Eastern Region will utilize the Vibrant Gujarat platform to showcase investment opportunities in the North-Eastern regions.
The Summit will host various events, including seminars and conferences on globally relevant topics such as Industry 4.0, Technology and Innovation, and Sustainable Manufacturing.
Many countries like Singapore, U.K., Japan, the Netherlands, and Australia are organising country seminars during the conference and country pavilions at the Global Trade Show.
Netherlands-based companies are likely to sign potential investment agreements to the tune of 3.6 billion Euros at the summit.
As per the report, these possible investment agreements are expected in port, renewable energy, manufacturing, and nutrient products. Amlan Bora, Chief Representative for India, Trade and Investment Commissioner, Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO).
“Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, conceptualised in 2003 under the visionary leadership of the then chief minister Modi, has today evolved as one of the most reputed global forums for business collaboration, knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships for inclusive growth and sustainable development”, The Prime Minister’s Office stated.
Arrangements of 3d security
Elaborate security measures have been put in place in Gandhinagar for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, including 3-D mapping of venues by drones, setting up of decentralized command and control centers and CCTV cameras at key spots.
Additionally, control rooms have been established and repeater channels have been set up to coordinate between Ahmedabad city and Gandhinagar district police.
Foreign conglomerates
The state has been a magnet for foreign direct investment (FDI), attracting USD 55 billion in the last two decades, with ₹37,059 crore, or USD 4.9 billion, in FDI for 2022–23 alone. This year, foreign conglomerates taking part in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit include Microsoft, Nasdaq, Google, Suzuki, and others.
Asia’s two richest people and noted industrialists, Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, along with the chairman of salt-to-aviation conglomerate Tata Group, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, will be among the scores of top Indian executives in attendance.
Many investment agreements are expected to be signed during the summit. While Gujarat is expecting a record number of investment deals, officials remain non-committal about the participation of Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk.
Success of 2019- 23 edition
Gujarat’s auto exports contributed significantly, reaching ₹12 lakh crore in the 2022-23 financial year. A record 28,360 projects and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed at the 2019 edition of the summit, indicating the growing importance of the summit. Between 2019 and 2023, Gujarat secured nearly $34 billion in foreign investment, ranking as the third-highest recipient among Indian states.
