The result of Civil Services Examination 2023 is out. The result has been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday.
Aditya Srivastava of Lucknow has topped UPSC. According to the information by UPSC, Srivastava has topped (AIR 1) in CSE 2023. At the same time, Animesh Pradhan has secured second (AIR 2) and Donuru Ananya Reddy has secured third (AIR 3) position.
After getting the first rank in All India, Aditya told his father on the phone that Papa, it seems too much.
AIR 1 Aditya Srivastava : Know the topper
Aditya Srivastava, who topped the UPSC, is a resident of Lucknow. He has studied till 12th from City Montessori School (CMS) in Lucknow. In the year 2021, Aditya had secured 485 rank in UPSC. Aditya Srivastava is currently training for IPS in Hyderabad, he was selected in IPS in 2022. He has completed five and a half months of training.
Srivastava family member said that since childhood he had dreamt of making his son an IAS. Today their dream has been fulfilled. Aditya Shrivastava’s father is an audit officer.
Aditya Srivastava did engineering from IIT Kanpur
After studying B.Tech and M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, he also worked in a multinational company in Bangalore for one and a half years. After working for one and a half years, he left the job and prepared for civil services. Aditya Srivastava has achieved success by doing self study while staying at home at that time.

1016 candidates selected; 3 candidates in the top 5 ranks are already IPS officers
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the result of Civil Services Examination- 2023 on Tuesday. 1016 candidates have been selected for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). 180 will become IAS and 200 IPS officers.
Aditya Srivastava of Lucknow has secured All India Rank 1. Animesh Pradhan has got second rank and Ananya Reddy has got third rank. Candidates can check their results by visiting the official website of UPSC upsc.gov.in.
A total of 2,855 candidates qualified for the personality test of the examination,” the Commission said.
This year, 3 candidates coming in top 5 ranks are already IPS officers. Aditya Srivastava, who secured rank 1, Siddharth Ramkumar of rank 4 P and Ruhani, rank 5, are completing IPS training at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad.
This is the first time in the last 11 years that an IPS officer has secured All India Rank 1 in this exam while in service. Earlier in 2013, IPS officer Gaurav Agarwal had secured All India Rank 1 in the Civil Services Exam.
31 candidates selected from Jamia Millia Islamia University
31 candidates have been selected from Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia University. Out of these, 11 girls have been selected. All these students had studied from JMI’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA). JMI student Nausheen has secured All India Rank 9.
For the last two years, women have topped the UPSC Civil Services Exam. In 2022, Ishita Kishore secured AIR 1. In UPSC CSE 2021, Shruti Sharma secured All India Rank 1.
Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N and Smriti Mishra were among the top rankers in 2022. In 2021, the top three ranks were held by girls. Ankita Agarwal secured AIR 2, while Gamini Singla from Chandigarh secured AIR 3.
AIR 2 Animesh Pradhan, an IITian too
Animesh Pradhan, a graduate (B Tech.) in Computer Science from NIT Rourkela, secured second rank with Sociology as his optional subject. Donuru Ananya Reddy, a graduate [B.A. (Hons.) Geography] from Miranda House, Delhi University stood third in the rank with Anthropology as her optional subject.
“As many as 14,624 candidates qualified for appearance in the written (main) examination, which was held in September, 2023” the Commission said.
Educational qualifications of top 25 successful candidates range from graduation in engineering, humanities, science, commerce, business administration, architecture and law from premier institutions of the country such as IIT, IIM, NIT, University of Delhi and National Law University among others.
Top 25 successful candidates have opted for subjects like anthropology, chemistry, geography, economics, electrical engineering, law, history, mathematics, physics, political science and international relations and sociology as their optional choice in the written (main) examination, the UPSC said.
