Vicky Kaushal’s picture donning the look of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj – the eldest son of Maratha Empire’s founder for his upcoming historical film Chhava – is making circles on social media.
The picture shows that Vicky’s get up was like a Maratha ruler. He can be seen sporting a long beard and long- locks tied into a Shiva like bun. He wears a beige sleeveless jacket, a light brown dhoti, and a bunch of traditional accessories. He looks determine as he walks in a rustic setting. The film director Laxman Utekar has said that he was keen to explore the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji on the big screen. “We have seen many films on Chhatrapati Shivaji but nobody knows how big a warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was, or his contribution towards the Maratha empire and to Maharashtra”, Utekar told PTI.

The Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandana-starrer film Chhava is a period drama film and will see Vicky essaying the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, eldest son of the Maratha’s empire’s founder Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film focused on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s sacrifice will explore love between Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale (essayed by Rasmika).
Rasmika on the film
Rasmika had recently finished shooting for her part in the film. After wrapping up the film, she took to Instagram and gave a shootout to the team. She had written, “@laxman. utekar sir… I just wonder how can a man handle such a big set with at least 1500 working people with such calm and poise.”
The film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock films and is all set to hit the theatres on December 6. Besides Chhava, Vicky will also be seen in Bad Newz and Love & War. On the other hand, Rasmika will also star in Telegu films like Pushpa 2: The Rule, Rainbow and The Girlfriend.
