The 20-page manifesto, titled ‘Janta Ka Maang Patra – Humara Adhikar’ was released at the SP State office in Lucknow on Thursday. It advocates for a ‘PDA’ government, championing the Pichde (backward classes), Dalit, and Alpasankhyak (minorities) communities.
“As soon as the INDIA bloc government is formed at the Centre, a caste-based census will be initiated, and all the vacant posts for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and other backward classes (OBCs) will be filled by 2025,” Mr. Yadav told reporters after the manifesto’s release.

Party president Akhilesh Yadav added deadlines to the promises while releasing the manifesto. If voted to power, the party will conduct a caste-based census by 2025, and will ensure justice and participation for all by 2029, he said. The SP also called for the Old Pension Scheme to be made available to all government employees, including paramilitary personnel.

On this occasion, the SP President said, “We are going to the public with this vision document and we hope that the public will support the socialists and the alliance and with a historic victory in Uttar Pradesh, the All India Alliance will win the maximum number of seats.
Releasing the party’s manifesto, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, “We have called this vision document ‘Janata Ka Mang Patra Hamara Adhikar’.
He said “ In this, we have talked about the right to save the Constitution, the right to protect democracy, the right to freedom of media, the right to freedom and autonomy of democratic institutions, the right to justice and equality, the right to social justice, the right to bread, the right to get rid of inflation, the right to get out of poverty, the right to live in a safe environment, the right to 24-hour electricity, the right to education and health for the poor, the right to better public transport, the right to register an FIR conveniently.”

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) UP in-charge Sanjay Singh met SP national president Akhilesh Yadav in the capital on Friday. Both the leaders held a joint press conference and announced to fight together to save democracy. Akhilesh said that BJP wants to win elections by misusing the institutions from which justice is expected.
Akhilesh spoke to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal over the phone and enquired about her well being and also assured her of full support in the fight to save democracy.
