Rahul Gandhi and CM Stalin frontline INDIA rally in Coimbatore
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attended an INDIA bloc rally in Coimbatore, a prized Lok Sabha seat, where the BJP’s state president, K Annamalai, is the party’s candidate.
Rahul Gandhi mocked Prime Minister Modi for expressing fondness for ‘dosa and vada’ in Tamil Nadu but advocating for a ‘One Country, One Language’ policy upon returning to Delhi.
Addressing Coimbatore rally, Rahul called Stalin his “elder brother”, who called him “future of India, hero of our hope, my dear brother’, with both targeting PM Modi.
The Congress posted the video of Rahul’s ‘surprise visit’ to the sweet shop on X.
Responding to his ally’s post, Stalin wrote: “anbirkum undo adaikkum thaal” (Can love be stopped?).
Later, at the rally venue at Chettipalayam, Rahul presented the sweet box to a visibly delighted Stalin.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who was in Coimbatore to address a public meeting, made a surprise visit to a sweet shop at Singanallur, en route the venue of the election rally on the outskirts of the city on Friday.
On it’s way to the rally, Mr. Gandhi’s convoy stopped near Singanallur junction on Kamarajar Road and he walked into ‘Shree Vigneshwara Sweets and Bakes’, accompanied by Tamil Nadu Congress Committee chief K. Selvaperunthagai.
When asked whom he was buying sweets for, Mr Gandhi said, “My brother Stalin”. A representative of the shop said Mr. Gandhi bought 1 kg of gulab jamun. Later, at the election meeting, Mr. Gandhi said, “My brother Stalin, elder brother Stalin, I have never addressed any other politician like this.”

With Rahul’s ‘sweet gesture’ and Stalin’s happy pictures and their warm hug – a carefully choreographed move in public to project a robust INDIA alliance for the Lok Sabha elections – the event was probably one of the largest poll rallies held so far in this poll season in the state.
While the organisers claim over 1.5 lakh people participated in it, independent sources said the rally was attended by nearly 95,000 people including about 65,000 women.
Addressing the rally in support of the alliance candidates from the Coimbatore, Pollachi, Erode and Karur seats, Rahul called Stalin his “elder brother”, adding that he “doesn’t say this about any other politician”.
