The arrest of YouTuber Elvish Yadav in Noida, Uttar Pradesh is in the headlines. Noida Police had made full preparations and called Elvish for questioning on Sunday. To ensure that no crowd could gather upon his arrival, he was secretly called to the farm house in Sector-113 police station area.
Elvish Yadav was arrested by the Noida Police on Sunday in connection with the snake venom case and was sent to 14-day judicial custody. YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT2 winner Elvish was called by the police for a fresh round of questioning in connection with the case and was later arrested. A video of Elvish with the police is also doing the rounds on social media claiming to be the footage of the YouTuber’s arrest.
Earlier, on November 7 also, the police had called him to Sector-20 police station at night for questioning. At that time, after about 3 hours of interrogation, he was let go. After this the police did not lay hands on Elvish. If sources are to be believed, this time the police had called Elvish saying that this is the final interrogation and nothing is going to happen to you.
On the other hand, after the FSL (Forensic Science Lab) report came in February that the 20 ml liquid recovered from the snake charmers was snake poison, the police had completed its preparations.
Noida Police interrogation with Elvish
Officially, the police say that Elvish has been arrested after not getting satisfactory answers to some questions for interrogation. If sources are to be believed, the police observed the surrounding environment.
After this, Elvish was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, from there he was directly taken and presented in the court. When the court sent him to judicial custody, the police left him till the district jail. During this, disappointment was seen on the face of Elvish Yadav and tears in the eyes.
People for Animal NGO curbs Venom Party in Noida
People for Animals conducted a sting operation to unravel the misuse of rare animals and got in touch with Elvish Yadav as they had a tip-off that he has a network of people involved in this. According to the complaint, Elvish helped them by providing contacts who finally arranged snake venom. Elvish posed with snakes in his videos.
Six people, including YouTuber Elvish Yadav, were booked under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and Section 120A (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly providing snake venom for a party in Noida’s Sector 51 which was a sting operation by Maneka Gandhi’s People for Animals. The other five were arrested and Elvish’s role in the rave party and in procuring snakes for such parties was being probed.
Call recording of snake charmers also surfaced
When the snake charmer was caught on November 2, nine snakes and one CC containing 20 ml of poison were recovered from him. This case was registered under other sections including wildlife protection.
FSL investigation confirmed that the liquid recovered in the bottle was reportedly snake poison. Its report came in February. After this the police increased the NDPS section in this case. On the other hand, the police had also interrogated the snake charmers caught earlier by taking them on remand.
During this time a cobra was recovered from Faridabad. The venom gland of all the recovered snakes was not found. The recovered snake species included cobra, python, dumuhi, rat snake i.e. horse tailed snake.
Some call recordings were also revealed in which a snake charmer was claiming that he takes snakes to Elvish Yadav’s parties. Some locations of Noida were also mentioned in it.
Elvish’s ‘system’ hangs
The evidence on the basis of which Noida Police has taken action, if sources are to be believed, was already collected, but the accused Elvish Yadav also had political reach.
The political patronage he was getting and close action from the leaders was coming in the way. Meanwhile, political equations also changed.
The code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections came into effect on Saturday. After this the police came into action on Sunday. Nine snakes were found from the party which was a sting operation by the People For Animals and all of them had their venom glands removed. Eight of the nine snakes had their teeth missing.
The rave party case goes back to November 3 last year; the party was held at a banquet hall in Noida Sector 51. Elvish was not present at the party.
This arrest comes after Elvish was recently embroiled in another controversy after his video of beating up YouTuer Maxtern, also known as Sagar Thakur, went viral. After an FIR was filed against Elvish in Gurugram, Elvish issued a statement explaining why he thrashed Maxtern.
