The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told them during his remand custody that he had “limited interaction” with Vijay Nair and the latter used to report to AAP leaders Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj and not to him.
The ED, in its application for judicial custody of the chief minister, stated that Kejriwal’s aforesaid statement was a glaring example of his evasive and misleading replies.
What Kejriwal Said ?
“The statements by Vijay Nair reveal that he stayed in a Cabinet Minister’s bungalow and worked from the Camp Office of the CM. It was also put to the arrestee to explain why would someone who reported to other leaders of the AAP, work from his Camp Office, which anyways is meant for the work of the CM of Delhi and not for the party,” the ED’s judicial custody application read.
The agency further stated that CM Kejriwal evaded this question by claiming that he was unaware of who all work at the CM’s Camp Office.
Atishi slams BJP of wooeing AAP members
Delhi government minister Atishi Marlena said in a press conference, ‘I was approached to join the Bharatiya Janata Party through a person very close to me. I was told that either I join the BJP and save my political career. If I do not join the BJP, I will be arrested in the next one month.’
She said that more leaders of Aam Aadmi Party – Raghav Chaddha, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Durgesh Pathak, Atishi herself, can be arrested in the next few days.
Atishi said, ‘The Prime Minister and BJP have made up their mind. They want to crush the Aam Aadmi Party and its leaders, want to finish them.’
Atishi said “We are now in queue for Jail”
“Arvind Kejriwal’s conduct has been totally non-cooperative and he has tried to mislead the interrogation. He said Vijay Nair does not report to me but to Atishi. Kejriwal is not sharing the password for his phone,” SV Raju argued for ED.
Atishi said, ‘The senior leadership of Aam Aadmi Party is in custody. But after lakhs of people came to Ramlila Maidan on Sunday and the struggle of Aam Aadmi Party on the road, BJP will put our four big leaders in jail in the coming time.
She said “In the coming days, there will be an ED raid at my personal residence. There will be raids at the houses of my relatives and family members. We will all be sent summons and then we will be arrested.”
Vijay Nayar, who Kejriwal said reported to Atishi as per ED
Vijay Nair is the ex-communication incharge of AAP and is one of the accused in connection with alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped excise policy.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday said during a hearing at Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal told the agency that the co-accused in the excise policy case Vijay Nair reported to Delhi minister Atishi and not to him.
Nair is a former CEO of an entertainment and events management company — Only Much Louder (OML), as Indian Express reported. An entrepreneur, Nair dropped out of college to start OML, which was headquartered in Mumbai, news media reported.
