“If Congress does not get the expected results in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, then Rahul Gandhi should consider taking a break from politics”, Political strategist Prashant Kishore said this in an interview to news agency PTI.
Prashant said in a recent interview that Rahul Gandhi has been trying unsuccessfully for the last 10 years to make Congress win.
“Despite this, he neither separated from politics nor allowed anyone else to become the face of the party. In my view, this is not democratic.”
“When you (Rahul Gandhi) have been doing the same thing for the last 10 years and have not got any success in it, then there is no harm in taking a break. You should let someone else do it for five years. Your mother did the same.” said Kishore.
Prashant said “ What did Sonia Gandhi do after the assassination of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi. In 1991, she distanced herself from politics. She handed over the command of Congress to PV Narasimha Rao. You all know its result.”
Winning Wayanad is not a big task, After loosing hindi belt
Prashant said about Rahul that the fight of Congress is in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, but their leaders visit Manipur and Meghalaya.
“If you don’t win in UP, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, then there is no use of winning from Wayanad. You cannot win the country by winning Kerala alone. Leaving Amethi will also send a wrong message.”
Prashant gave the example of Prime Minister Modi and said – Narendra Modi had chosen to contest elections from his home state Gujarat as well as Uttar Pradesh in 2014. Because, you cannot win India unless you win the Hindi belt or register your presence in the Hindi belt.
Questioning the Election Commission and the media for the defeat is wrong
Prashant questioned Rahul’s claims in which the Election Commission, the judiciary and the media were accused of losing the election.
He said that this may be partially true, but the whole is not true. He said that in the 2014 elections, the Congress had come down from 206 seats to 44 seats when it was in power and the BJP had little influence on various institutions.

Prashant claimed that the BJP is going to become the number one party in Odisha and West Bengal in the Lok Sabha elections.
In Telangana, BJP may be at number one or second. BJP’s vote share in Tamil Nadu can reach double digits. Out of the total 543 Lok Sabha seats, Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Kerala have 204 seats.
However, in 2014 or 2019, the BJP could not even cross the 50 seat mark in all these states. Prashant said- Due to the sluggish and weak strategy of the opposition, the BJP seems to be benefiting in South and East India.
In these two areas, the party’s vote share and seats may increase compared to 2019. These are two areas where the party’s hold is weak.
Prashant Kishor’s own Dilemma – Jan Suraaj not registered with EC yet
After the announcement of Lok Sabha elections, the number of people registering new parties with the commission has started increasing rapidly.
One such party is Jan Suraj Party from Bihar. Jan Suraj has been allotted the apple election symbol for 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. Apple symbol is included in the free election symbols in the Lok Sabha elections.
