Sonia Gandhi has reached Rajasthan Assembly for Rajya Sabha nomination.
State President Govind Singh Dotasara welcomed him in the Congress Legislature Party meeting held here.
At the same time, after Sonia reached Jaipur this morning, four names were formally announced by the Congress Party for Rajya Sabha nomination.
These include the names of Sonia Gandhi from Rajasthan, Abhishek Manu Singhvi from Himachal Pradesh, Akhilesh Prasad Singh from Bihar and Chandrakant Handore from Maharashtra.
Mrs Gandhi in Rajasthan Today Filling Nomination for RS
Former national president of Congress Sonia Gandhi will file nomination for Rajya Sabha elections from Rajasthan on Wednesday at an auspicious time on the occasion of Basant Panchami.
Along with Sonia Gandhi, party national president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Rahul Gandhi and general secretary KC Venugopal will also come to Jaipur.
All the leaders will reach Jaipur by two charter planes from Delhi and go to the Assembly from the airport, where Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are scheduled to meet Congress MLAs in the party lobby.
Rajasthan’s 3 Rajya Sabha seats term ends
In view of Sonia Gandhi’s arrival in Jaipur, Congress has called all its MLAs to Jaipur. It is noteworthy that there are ten seats in Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.
